We are pleased to announce the grand opening of the Pennyrile Auction Center! Our brand new auction center is now open for business on the Christian /Todd County line beside Deerfield Supplies. We anticipate meeting the growing need for regular auctions in the Kentucky Tennessee region.
Pennyrile Auction Center LLC has entered into a collaborative agreement with Fairview Auction LLC where Principal Auctioneer Leon Shirk has been a team member in the past. The following is a statement from Fairview Auction:
For around three decades, the Fairview Consignment Auction has been a part of the local culture. First held on a neighboring farm, the event was then moved to Fairview Produce Auction, where it has been an important item on the local schedule for many years. While the structure of the auction has seen several changes over the years, the Consignment Auction and the Farm Equipment Auction have remained a highlight where the community could gather several times a year to sell or buy all kinds of merchandise, or simply for a chance to socialize at the widely attended event.
At Fairview Produce Auction, there has been a good deal of discussion recently concerning the increasing interference of these special auctions with our primary focus of local produce and related crops, which has seen phenomenal growth in recent years. In light of this, when Leon Shirk made us aware that he had acquired a property at a very favorable location within about half a mile and made a proposal to take on the Consignment Auction and the Spring Farm Equipment Auction, we felt it was a good fit.
Fairview Produce Auction plans to continue with the Produce & Greenhouse/Farm Equipment Auction in December, but the other events will have a new venue with new management going forward, we encourage the community to support these auctions as they have done in the past and give our best wishes to Leon and his staff!
